Measure where the harness sits.

Trouser size is not a harness measurement. Use a soft tape, keep it level, and record the clothing layers you expect to climb in.

Measure your waist

  1. Stand naturally and find the point above your hip bones where the waist belt will sit.
  2. Wrap a soft tape around that point. Keep it level and close to the body without compressing clothing.
  3. Read the value after a normal breath. Repeat once; large disagreement means measure again.

Measure your thigh

  1. Stand with weight distributed evenly.
  2. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of one upper thigh.
  3. Keep the tape flat and close without pulling it tight. Measure the other thigh if they differ noticeably and use the larger value when checking a chart.

Account for layers

Measure in the clothing you expect to wear. A gym session and an alpine day may produce different practical shortlists. Never assume an adjustable loop removes the need to stay inside the published range.

Final fit checklist

  • Follow the exact model's fitting and buckle instructions.
  • Confirm the waist belt sits above the hips and cannot be pulled down over them.
  • Check leg-loop comfort, rise, movement, gear-loop position, and intended layers.
  • Complete a controlled weighted hang test in a shop or gym.
  • Stop if the harness shifts, pinches, restricts movement, or cannot be adjusted as instructed.

The calculator is a shopping shortlist, not permission to climb.
